Wraparound Care at Holmwood School

BREAKFAST CLUB / AFTER SCHOOL CLUB / HOLIDAY PLAY SCHEME

We are keen to support working parents and offer children a variety of fun activities at our OFSTED registered Breakfast Club, After School Club and Holiday Play Scheme.

BREAKFAST CLUB
Breakfast Club is open from 7.45am.  Children are offered breakfast on arrival, which is a choice of cereals, toast, fruit and fruit juices or milk. They are then able to read, draw, colour, play board games, chat to friends until the start of the school day.

AFTER SCHOOL CLUB
Children attending the After School Club are given a healthy snack, which is freshly prepared by the After School Club team.  We  are sensitive to each child's needs and cater for cultural/dietary requirements.

After snack children are taken outside (weather permitting) and the play workers guide and support them in their play. Play continues inside, where a variety of games, cars, dolls and a home corner are provided.  We also have a weekly 'theme' for art and craft activities. There is a quiet area available during all sessions for those children who wish to read or rest. Our play workers are constantly undertaking training in order to provide the best service for your children and maintain the high standards parents have come to expect from the Holmwood and Ashbrook schools. All staff are appropriately DBS checked and we always have a first-aid trained member of staff on duty.

We offer half sessions from 3.10pm – 4.30pm and full sessions from 3.10pm - 6pm:

HOLIDAY PLAY SCHEME
Our Holiday Play Scheme is always popular and we aim to offer a range of fun activities to keep your children busy and entertained during the holidays.

As this facility is always popular, please book early to avoid disappointment.  Our Holiday Play Scheme is open to older and younger school age siblings up to the age of 12. Activities are tailored to the age groups booked into the play scheme.

Breakfast will be available to all children arriving between 8.00-8.45am. You will need to supply your child with a packed lunch, although healthy snacks and drinks will be provided.

BOOKING PROCEDURE
Please ensure you complete a registration form for your child and keep us informed of any changes to your contact details.  This will enable us to contact you immediately in case of emergency.

At the start of each half term, parents will need to have completed a booking form, detailing all sessions required for that period.  This will help us to plan staffing, refreshments and activities in advance.  All forms are available from the After School Club and the school office.

If you are unable to book in advance, due to shift patterns etc and you require your child to attend on an ad-hoc basis, we will need to know which sessions you require on the Monday of each week and receive payment that day.

CANCELLATION POLICY
If you need to change any arrangements because of medical appointments, holidays or for other reasons, please complete a cancellation form in order that we can amend our register.

We need a minimum of one week’s notice for cancellations, as we will have already organised staffing and refreshments in advance.  If your child does not attend a pre-booked session, this absence will be charged for as we have to cover staffing and other costs.  Unfortunately, we are unable to ‘swap’ pre-booked sessions without the required notice.

BEHAVIOUR POLICY
Please be aware that we operate a behaviour policy for children attending the After School Club, Breakfast Club and Holiday Play Scheme.  This includes a zero tolerance approach to poor behaviour.  We record such incidents and repeated incidents will result in children being asked to leave the Club.  Any deliberate damage to toys or equipment will be charged to the child’s parent/carer as appropriate.
