The Governors have recommended for children at Holmwood to wear a school uniform but it is not obligatory. However, it does help develop children's sense of belonging. The school colours are grey and royal blue. Uniform can be ordered through our supplier, Maisie's Superstore based in Wolverton; you are able to try everything on and buy there directly alternatively you can purchase via their website.
For PE, children in KS1 (Year 1 and Year 2), come to school ‘PE Ready’; meaning that the children arrive already dressed in their PE kits on the two days a week that their class are timetabled to take part in PE. As children in KS1 wear their PE kit all day, including when playing outside at break and lunchtime, it must be suitable for the current weather conditions and should include outdoor trainers.
Children in Early Years change into their PE kits on their PE days; this is because being able to dress and undress independently is part of the EYFS curriculum. PE kits are kept in school at all times, in a small drawstring bag, which the children will bring home for washing at the end of each half term. The children wear a T-shirt and shorts for indoor PE. For outdoor PE children will also need a jumper, jogging bottoms and plimsolls or trainers.
Once the summer term arrives, children in Early Years will begin to move onto coming to school PE ready.
